Turon S. Kendrick, Accountant, EA
I obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting from Frostburg State University in 2005. Frostburg State University’s College of Business is AACSB accredited – which is the gold standard among business program accreditations. There are more than 15,000 colleges and universities around the world and only approximately 695 are accredited by AACSB, which means fewer than 5 percent worldwide are AACSB accredited.
In addition to having a BS in Accounting from an elite program, I am an Enrolled Agent (EA). An Enrolled Agent is a tax practitioner who is recognized at the federal level by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). In fact, the Enrolled Agent status is the highest credential awarded by the IRS. As stated by the IRS “Enrolled agents, like attorneys and certified public accountants (CPAs), have unlimited practice rights”. This means I am authorized by the IRS to serve all types of taxpayers, from individuals to businesses both large and small. Additionally, being an Enrolled Agent ensures the adequate level of competency to handle all types of tax matters for my clients, from a simple late filing to an audit or any other serious tax issues my client may be facing. Finally, the IRS requires that tax professionals who obtain this elite credential must adhere to ethical standards and complete 72 hours of continuing education courses every three years; so you can rest assured that I remain up to date on the ever changing tax laws and regulations.
